Candied Jalapeños are delicious and can add a sweet and spicy kick to a wide range of dishes. From savoury meals to sweet treats, the possibilities are endless. They aren’t super spicy, just a nice warm hum adding a little spark to a cracker with cheese.  Our home made Candied Jalapeños are definitely a favourite in our kitchen!

Candied jalapeños are typically made when they’re green, but occasionally we use the red ones which are left to grow and ripen on the plant turning the chilli from green to bright red. Fresh Jalapeños can have varying degrees of spice, so there can be some minor fluctuation in heat from batch to batch.

These are like jazz hands on a cheese platter, they look fantastic and taste even better with a range of cheeses, on top of a pizza, burrito or burger, mixed through salsa or even add some to your next bolognaise for a sweet warm hum!

Pop some holes in a brie and drizzle with the candied jalapeños and syrup, warm in the over for a few minutes to infuse the flavour and enjoy!

Hot tip – Don’t throw away any leftover syrup! Great to use as a salad dressing or glaze over chicken/fish!
